Yes, and generally in your favor if you have a laser projector. Laser models command stronger resale prices because buyers know they're getting a unit with a much longer usable life ahead of it. A lamp projector, even in great condition, has a finite and visible end point. A laser projector bought today could run for another 15,000+ hours without issue. That difference in buyer confidence shows up directly in what we can pay. It's not that laser is always worth more across the board, but for comparable models, laser typically holds its value better as it ages.

Quite possibly. Age alone doesn't determine value. Model, brand, and condition matter far more. It comes down to what buyers are actually paying for. Home theater projectors are bought for image accuracy: native contrast, color volume, 4K resolution. Brands like JVC, Sony, and Epson dominate that market. Golf simulator projectors are a different animal entirely. Buyers care about lumens first since they need to cut through ambient light in a simulator bay, and throw ratio second so the image fills a large screen from a ceiling mount. Models like the Optoma GT4000UHD and BenQ TK705STi are built specifically for that use case. One thing worth flagging: avoid ultra-short throw (UST) projectors for simulator setups. They sit inches from the screen, right in the path of a struck ball, and they don't survive that. Both categories hold strong resale value, just for completely different reasons.

Send the power cord and remote if you have them. Those are the only two things we need, no HDMI cables, nothing else. Keep in mind that many projectors have few or no physical buttons, so the remote is often the only way to fully test the unit. If you're missing either one, ship it anyway.

It happens more than you'd think. Model numbers are easy to misread, especially on older units. We verify every model at inspection. If we confirm your projector is a different model than quoted, we'll issue a corrected offer based on the actual unit. This can go either way. Some corrections result in a higher offer, others lower. To avoid it, double-check your model number against the label on the bottom or back of the unit before submitting.

Be cautious here. There are a significant number of counterfeit and clone projectors on the market, particularly from Chinese manufacturers, that use identical or near-identical model names to well-known brands like Epson, BenQ, and LG. These units are not made by the original brand and are sold deceptively. We do not buy counterfeit or clone projectors. If your projector was purchased from an unofficial retailer, an unknown seller on Amazon or eBay, or came without proper brand documentation, it may be a clone. When in doubt, check your serial number against the manufacturer's official records before submitting.

Use the original box if you have it. If not, pack it snugly with plenty of padding on all sides, the lens especially. We're not liable for shipping damage, so take your time with it. A projector that ships well is a projector that gets a clean inspection.

We don't supply boxes, projectors vary too much in size and weight to make that feasible. Use the original packaging if you have it. If not, a sturdy double-walled box with adequate padding works well. Avoid single-wall boxes or anything undersized. Projectors are heavy and the optics are fragile, so good packaging protects both your projector and your offer.

A laser TV is a projector. It's a marketing term that brands like Hisense, Samsung, and LG use for their ultra-short-throw laser models, which sit a few inches from the wall and usually include a built-in TV tuner.
